Happy New Year and I hope that you had a restful Christmas and holiday season.
Our Sales Agents got less than they expected in terms of time off over the normal hollday Christmas time as the market pushed through Christmas and the New Year.
Following on from a great result in November we recorded the best December in written sales for two years and prior to that it is the second best year in seven years for the month of December.
A curious situation and Real Estate social networking sites are a buzz with agents reporting similar bounces in activity and interest .
Is it here to stay or just a small thrust of interest we have felt? Only time will tell, however, we are all feeling positive and pumped .
Number of homes currently for sale is now under 14000 and this is certainly getting closer to the traditional number of 12000 homes for sale and may be the reason for the movement. The market has been oversupplied for some time now which has certainly contributed to a slowdown, so this shortening in supply is welcome by most sellers.
Buying conditions are still excellent, however, if the current trend continues this may change for buyers.
